located in Luhe District in the Jiangbei area of Nanjing and founded in 1993 under the approval of the provincial government, it is among the 18 key development zones under Jiangsu's Along-the-Yangtze-River Development Strategy. With a planning area of
96km2, it concentrates on new energy vehicles and parts,
high-end equipment manufacturing and new energy electrical industry.The zone mainly adopts a strategy of "one center, two parks and three industries", following an innovation-driven, endogenous-growth-based and green way of development. "One center" refers to the Longchi Lake Ecological Commercial Center which surrounds the Longchi Lake; "two parks" refer to the Park for Emerging Strategic Industries, concentrating on the aforesaid "three industries" including new-energy automobile, energy-saving & environmental protection and new material, as well as the Park for Modern Service Industries which is, based on its sub-city position, to be developed at an accelerated pace with focus on the Longchi Lake Commercial and Recreational Center, the Jasmine Jiangsu Cultural Industry Expo and the business logistics industry. It has up to now brought in more than 160 enterprises, 31 of which post an annual sales revenue of above RMB100 million each. All projects have attracted a total investment of RMB16.9 billion, where USD520 million of foreign investment is actually used.
