Nanjing Jiangning Economic and Technological Development Zone
located in Jiangning District, Nanjing, it was recognized as a provincial-level development zone in 1993 and established its hi-tech industrial park under the approval of the State Scientific and Technological Commission in 1997, and was recognized as a national economic and technological development zone by the State Council in 2010 of over 300km2 whose focus is on the construction of “Future Network Valley” and world-class
smart grid industry base to shape the "2+3+5" dominant feature industry system, where "2" refers to the two pillar industries, namely, electronic information and automobile manufacturing and components & parts, each with an annual output value of over RMB100 billion; "3" refers to the three emerging industries, namely, new energy, smart grid & electric power automation and aviation, each with an annual output value of over RMB50 billion; and "5" refers to the five modern service industries, namely, software & service outsourcing, modern logistics, tourism, headquarters and R&D centers and the cultural & creative industry.
It has so far introduced more than two thousand projects from 42 countries/regions where more than 500 are worth over USD10 million. The Zone has attracted 45 of the world's top 500 corporations who as a whole realize USD9 billion of foreign contractual investment with USD6 billion already in place.
